Oxford, AL — Officers with the Oxford Police Department responded to a reported shooting at the Oxford Exchange on Tuesday, July 14, at approximately 7:40 p.m., according to Oxford Police Chief Daniel Phipps.
When officers arrived, they located an individual suffering from a gunshot wound. Personnel with Oxford Health Systems immediately provided medical care before the victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. Police said there is no known threat to the public at this time.
The victim’s identity has not been released out of respect for the individual and their family.
Chief Phipps asked the community to keep the victim, their family, and everyone affected by the incident in their thoughts and prayers.
