Apple said his decision to run for sheriff is based on his belief that changes are needed within the agency.

“I am running for sheriff because there is a lot that needs to change,” Apple said.

Drawing on his experience in law enforcement, Apple said he has observed internal challenges within agencies, including what he described as mismanagement and issues related to workplace culture.

Apple stated that his first goal, if elected, would be to center the Sheriff’s Office around his personal faith.

“My first goal is to give the Sheriff’s Office back to Jesus Christ,” Apple said. “Everything we do will be for his glory not our own.”

Apple also identified internal accountability as a priority, particularly in how policies are applied within an agency.

He said he believes disciplinary actions are not always applied consistently and that leadership should be held to the same or higher standards as other employees.

“Leadership needs to be held accountable just as much, if not more, than the employees they are over,” Apple said.

Apple further emphasized his leadership style, stating that he prefers a hands-on approach.

“I will be the tip of the spear with my men,” Apple said. “I will be out in front of them leading the charge. I will not hide behind a desk as many of the modern leaders of agencies do.”

While acknowledging that other candidates may have more experience, Apple said he believes his willingness to confront challenges and take a direct leadership role sets him apart.

“I have never been one to shy away from a fight,” Apple said.

Apple said his campaign will focus on addressing what he views as internal issues within the Sheriff’s Office while promoting accountability and leadership presence.
