JACKSONVILLE, AL — The Jacksonville Christian Outreach Center has received a $5,000 grant from Sparklight through its Charitable Giving Fund to help address growing needs for food, baby food, and essential hygiene products among individuals and families facing financial hardship in the community.
The grant is part of Sparklight’s recent funding cycle, during which the company awarded more than $125,000 to 25 nonprofit organizations across the cities and towns it serves. The grants support a range of initiatives, including hunger relief, child and family assistance, education, and workforce skills development.
Charlie Oakes, Sparklight Senior Regional Director for the Gulf Coast, said the company recognizes the challenges many residents are currently experiencing and emphasized the importance of supporting organizations that provide direct assistance to those in need.
Executive Director Summer Jennings said the funding will enhance the Jacksonville Christian Outreach Center’s ability to respond to urgent community needs by expanding access to essential resources for families experiencing crisis.
Sparklight’s Charitable Giving Fund focuses on projects that create long-term local impact, with emphasis areas that include education and digital literacy, hunger relief, and community development. Since the program launched in 2020, Sparklight has awarded more than $1.2 million in grants to over 275 nonprofit organizations nationwide.
Nonprofit organizations interested in applying for funding may submit applications during the Charitable Giving Fund’s open grant cycles each spring and fall. Applications for the spring 2026 cycle will be accepted from April 1 through April 30, 2026.
