Oxford, AL – The internationally recognized rhythm performance STOMP will take the stage at the Oxford Performing Arts Centeron Friday, March 13, from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Presented by the Calhoun County Area Chamber & Visitors Center, the show is known for transforming everyday objects into musical instruments in a high-energy theatrical experience that blends rhythm, comedy, and choreography.
The eight-member troupe performs using unconventional percussion items such as matchboxes, wooden poles, brooms, garbage cans, Zippo lighters, and hubcaps. Through coordinated movement and inventive sound, the performers create complex rhythms and visual storytelling without traditional musical instruments.
Since its debut, STOMP has built a global following, performing for audiences around the world. The production is recognized for its physicality, inventive staging, and interactive energy, appealing to audiences of a wide range of ages.
The Oxford performance offers local residents and visitors the opportunity to experience the internationally touring production in a live theater setting at the Oxford Performing Arts Center, located at 100 E. Choccolocco St. in Oxford, AL.
