BIRMINGHAM, AL — Some very special visitors swung into action this week at Children’s of Alabama, bringing smiles and excitement to patients and families alike.
Spiderman, Batman, Superman, and newcomer Wonder Woman rappelled down the side of the hospital, waving and posing for thrilled children watching from their windows. The visit marked the official start of the hospital’s annual Superhero Month, a celebration of courage, hope, and resilience among patients, families, and staff.
The caped visitors weren’t just comic book heroes—they were professional window washers from Sunlight Building Services, LLC, contracted by Hoar Construction, LLC, who volunteered to make the event unforgettable.
Throughout October, Children’s of Alabama will celebrate its theme, “Heroes Heal Here,” with a series of superhero-themed activities and events, including a much-anticipated superhero glow party. The month recognizes heroes of all sizes—from patients facing medical challenges to the families and medical teams who support them every day.
Children’s of Alabama expressed special thanks to Sunlight Building Services and Hoar Construction for their partnership in making this uplifting event possible.
