Sylacauga Man Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash

Talladega County, AL – A single-vehicle crash late Friday night, September 27, claimed the life of James T. Trussell, a 36-year-old man from Sylacauga. The incident occurred around 11:05 p.m. on Alabama 76 near the 12-mile marker, approximately five miles northeast of Childersburg in Talladega County.

Trussell was driving a 2004 Sterling LT9522 concrete mixer when the vehicle left the roadway, struck a metal post, and then re-entered the road before overturning. Authorities confirmed that Trussell was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division. No further information is available at this time.
