ANNISTON, AL — An officer with the Anniston Police Department made an arrest on April 13, 2026, following a traffic stop that led to the discovery of a significant quantity of suspected illegal drugs.
According to information released, an A-Shift officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation while on patrol. During the course of the stop, an investigation led officers to develop probable cause to search the vehicle.
Upon conducting the search, officers located approximately 28.6 grams of suspected methamphetamine and approximately 28.75 grams of suspected cocaine inside the vehicle.
The driver was taken into custody and charged with two counts of trafficking illegal drugs.
In a statement, the Anniston Police Department emphasized its continued efforts to combat illegal drug activity in the community, noting that such substances can have widespread impacts on individuals and families. The department stated that officers will continue working to identify and remove illegal drugs from the streets in an effort to protect the public.
