“We are working hard to get better,” Jacksonville coach David Clark said. “I was proud of their toughness Saturday and today. The young kids have to learn how to win.”

The emotion in the other camp was a little different. After the match there was a little running in store for the Lady Cubs.  [*** read more]

White Plains grinds out sweep

White Plains has been fighting through some COVID-related issues of late, but the Lady Wildcats are grinding out their way. They beat Saks 2-0 and Faith Christian 2-1 Tuesday. “The volleyball was not clean all the time but we took care of business,” White Plains coach Bradley Dawson said. “We got one starter back and lost another for the week, so I am just proud of the effort.

“We have people playing out of position, but they just keep stepping up to help the team. We were trying to figure out who the middle was going to be yesterday, but Macy Scism stepped up at practice and wanted the spot. In the last three matches she has played outside, opposite and now middle.” Scism finished with six kills and six aces. Bella Higgins led White Plains with nine kills, six aces and seven digs. Cooper Martin had 10 kills and three aces. The Lady Wildcats had 29 aces as a team in their two matches, 16 against Saks.
