Valley Machine Announces $2.1 Million Expansion, Creating 15 New Jobs

ANNISTON, AL — Valley Machine, a division of Blastcrete Equipment, LLC, has announced a $2.1 million expansion that will create 15 new jobs and increase the company’s manufacturing capabilities in Calhoun County.

According to company officials, the investment will fund the adoption of advanced machining technologies and equipment designed to enhance Valley Machine’s operations as a precision machine shop serving a variety of industries. The expansion is expected to increase production capacity, improve operational efficiencies, and help meet growing customer demand.

Blastcrete Co-CEO Scott Knighton said the investment reflects the company’s commitment to both Calhoun County and its workforce.

“This investment reflects Blastcrete’s long-term commitment to Calhoun County and confidence in the strength of our local workforce,” Knighton said. “While capital investment fuels growth, people remain our most important resource. Valley Machine specializes in precision machining, fabrication, material processing, and the production of components used in a range of industrial applications. Company officials said the expansion demonstrates an ongoing focus on innovation and continuous improvement.

The project will add 15 new positions to the company’s existing workforce of approximately 130 employees.

Don Hopper, executive director of the Calhoun County Economic Development Council, said existing industry growth continues to play an important role in the region’s economy.

“Existing industry growth remains a key driver of economic development,” Hopper said. “Valley Machine’s expansion reflects the strength of our workforce and the company’s commitment to creating quality career opportunities that benefit families throughout our region.”

The expansion is currently underway and is expected to be completed within the next year.

Founded in 1950, Blastcrete Equipment, LLC manufactures mixing, pumping, and spraying equipment for the refractory, concrete, and underground construction industries. The company operates facilities in Anniston, Alexandria, and Hokes Bluff and serves customers throughout the United States and internationally.
