JACKSONVILLE, AL — Calhoun County Schools is celebrating a historic achievement after recent White Plains High School graduate Cade Miller earned a National Championship in CNC Programming.
Miller, a 2026 graduate of White Plains High School, completed three years in the Precision Machining program at the Calhoun County Career Academy. He also has been accepted into the CoMet program at Gadsden State Community College.
According to Calhoun County Schools officials, Miller first captured the Alabama State Championship before advancing to the national competition, where he represented Alabama against competitors from more than 50 states and territories. His performance earned him the National Championship title, placing him at the top of a field of students from across the country.
School officials described the accomplishment as an outstanding achievement and noted their pride in Miller’s success and dedication.
Miller’s instructor throughout his three years in the Precision Machining program was Jonathon Williams of Calhoun County Schools.
The championship also marks a milestone for the school system, as officials said it is the first Career and Technical Student Organization national championship earned by a Calhoun County Schools student.
The achievement highlights both Miller’s commitment to his craft and the growing impact of career and technical education programs within Calhoun County Schools.
