Woodstock 5K Announces New Co-Race Director and Corporate Sponsorship with Publix

Anniston, AL – The Woodstock 5K, a staple in the Alabama road racing scene, has announced two major updates ahead of its 2025 event: the addition of a new co-race director and a significant corporate partnership with Publix.

Set to host the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) National 5K Championship on Saturday, August 2, 2025, the Woodstock 5K continues its long-standing tradition of excellence in community road racing. Organized by the Anniston Runners Club since 1981, the event has previously served as the host of 18 RRCA championship races—seven national, five regional, and six state championships.

As part of this year’s preparations, the Woodstock team has appointed Coach Landon Delozier as co-race director. Delozier, a native of Oxford, Alabama, brings nearly a decade of experience as a Cross Country and Track and Field coach at Oxford High School. A member of the Anniston Runners Club since 2019, Delozier will serve alongside longtime director Hayley Long, who plans to step down after the 2025 race.

“I am so honored to take a larger role in the Anniston Runners Club as I know the impact they have among the running community,” said Delozier.

The race also announced a new corporate sponsor: Publix. As the event’s headlining partner, Publix will provide financial support, post-race refreshments, and be featured prominently throughout race marketing. Participants are invited to cross the “Publix finish line” at the conclusion of the race.

Registrants receive several race perks, including a commemorative T-shirt (while supplies last), a medal, and the opportunity to win door prizes from local businesses. The event also features the popular Team Challenge, which encourages group participation among friends, schools, and organizations. For younger runners, the Kidstock 1K provides a fun, family-friendly experience for children aged 1 to 11, beginning after the main race concludes.
