Jacksonville State to Host National Juried Photography Exhibition

In the Practice of Seeing

JACKSONVILLE, AL — Jacksonville State University’s Department of Art and Design will host the opening of “In the Practice of Seeing: National Juried Photography Exhibition” on Thursday, Aug. 27.

The event is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. at Jacksonville State University, 700 Pelham Road North in Jacksonville.

The national juried exhibition was open to photographers from across the United States, providing an opportunity for artists to submit work for consideration in both professional and student categories.

The exhibition included an 18-and-older professional and collegiate category, as well as a free high school category for students ages 13 to 17. Professional and collegiate applicants were permitted to submit up to three images for a $20 entry fee.

The submission deadline for the exhibition was July 6.

Photographer Jim Reiman is serving as juror for the national exhibition. As juror, Reiman is responsible for reviewing submitted photography and selecting work for inclusion in the exhibition.

The event is being presented by the Jacksonville State University Department of Art and Design.

The Aug. 27 event is open to the public and is scheduled to last approximately two hours.
