Anniston, AL – Cyclists from across the region are preparing for a challenging endurance event hosted by Alabama Randonneurs on June 21–22, 2025. The ride will begin and end at Michael Tucker Park/Chief Ladiga Trailhead, located at 6514 Weaver Road in Anniston, AL.
Participants can choose between three distances on the Chief Ladiga Trail: a 100-kilometer Populaire route to the Alabama state line and back, a 200K ride to Rockmart, Georgia, and a 300K route extending to Smyrna, Georgia. Start times are staggered, with the 300K beginning at 6:00 a.m., the 200K at 7:00 a.m., and the 100K at 8:00 a.m.
Riders must be active members of Randonneurs USA (RUSA) to participate. Registration and membership information are available on the RUSA website and through the Alabama Randonneurs registration portal.
The event offers a unique opportunity for cyclists of varying experience levels to participate in long-distance rides along the scenic Chief Ladiga Trail, one of Alabama’s most popular rail trails. The trail features a paved, relatively flat route through forested areas and small communities, providing a safe and picturesque environment for endurance cycling.
