Gadsden, AL – Gadsden State Community College has announced the hiring of Aaron Triplett as the new head coach of its tennis program. Triplett brings a solid foundation in both playing and coaching, along with a deep personal connection to the institution.
A graduate of Guntersville High School, Triplett continued his athletic career at Gadsden State and later at Huntingdon College, competing in both singles and doubles events. While at Huntingdon, he helped lead the Hawks to multiple tournament appearances, including a semifinal finish in the USA South Tournament during his junior year and another conference tournament appearance in his senior season.
Triplett’s coaching career began in 2017 at Boaz High School, where he led both the boys’ and girls’ tennis teams. In 2024, he became the head boys’ tennis coach at Albertville High School. Over the years, he has accumulated more than 100 team wins, captured two Section Championships, and guided his teams to multiple top 10 finishes in AHSAA state tournaments.
Known for his emphasis on character-building and strong player relationships, Triplett prioritizes life lessons and personal development through sport. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to return to Gadsden State, which he credits with shaping his own personal and professional path.
“Gadsden State meant so much to me as a player and a student when I was here,” said Triplett. “It’s been a dream of mine to return and help influence the next generation of students and tennis players.”
Triplett plans to focus on student-athlete development, teamwork, and fostering a culture of mutual respect and motivation. He, his wife Jade, and their children are looking forward to becoming part of the Gadsden State community.
