Andy Squyres is a singer-songwriter from Charlotte, North Carolina, where he lives with his wife Amy and their kids. In 2016 he released his album Cherry Blossoms, placing him among the top ten singer/songwriters that year. In 2021 he released the album Poet Priest which Brett McCracken of The Gospel Coalition named the album of the year. In November of 2021 he also released a book called Poet Priest Vol.1 which is a compilation of essays about being content with living a small life. In the tradition of the lyricism of artists like Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, Squyres brings a unique and modern voice to the world of Christian music. “If people claim Christian music is all schmaltz that sugarcoats reality, they haven’t listened to Andy Squyres.
