Anniston, AL – The Northeast Alabama Bicycle Association (NEABA) is inviting mountain biking enthusiasts and trail supporters to take part in a unique trail workday at Coldwater Mountain on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
This special workday will focus on constructing a new tunnel feature along the trail—a project designed to add both a “fly over” and “fly through” element to enhance the riding experience. Volunteers are encouraged to meet at the pinned location shared by NEABA, where a 4WD shuttle will transport participants to the build site deep in the woods. A mini-excavator will be used to assist with the construction.
“This is a different kind of workday—we’re doing something exciting and new for the trail,” organizers stated. “We’ve got the equipment and a plan, we just need the people to help bring it to life.”
To add to the fun, a pair of high-quality cycling socks donated by a supporter known as “Wig” will be given away in a random drawing among all volunteers.
The Coldwater Mountain trail system has become a regional hub for mountain biking, with features that attract both casual riders and seasoned cyclists. Events like this one are crucial to the trail’s ongoing development and maintenance.
