    • November Commission Meeting Change Resolution – Due to holidays the 11/11 meeting has been rescheduled to 11/10 and the 11/25 meeting has been canceled. – Unanimously Approved
    • Pistol Permit Support Resolution – The Sheriff of Calhoun County, Matthew Wade, has requested a formal resolution from the Commission in response to the state’s attempt to do away with pistol permits. He is requesting support of second amendment rights to have pistol permits. – Unanimously Approved
    • Sheriff Incentive MOU – The sherif is using direct funds to help recruit and retain employees. – Unanimously Approved
    • Rails to Trails Grant Application Resolution – This is an ADECA grant for $500,000 with a $100,000 match. These funds would be used at the McClellan Horse Trails. There are plans for a general store, more stables, and improvements on the pavilion. This would be the largest project taken on by the commission. – Unanimously Approved

  • Public Comments
    • Audrey Maxwell, Tourism Director for Calhoun County spoke about the Business Expo on 10/19.  This event will be held at the Oxford Civic Center. Masks will be encouraged. The main expo will be from  10am – 4pm-After Hours and  Taste of Calhoun will be from 4pm- 6pm. This is a 21 and Older Only event. Another event that will be coming up is the Extreme Car Wash with a Heroes Theme, The cost will be $20. On the 29th the Big Shots Clay Shoot will be held in Talladega and on 11/3 the Comedy Cabaret will be held to honor small businesses. This will be held at the Oxford Performing Arts Center and will cost $30.
    • Commissioner Shears spoke about his first official meeting. He wanted to thank all the staff and fellow commissioners for being so supportive. He is looking forward to the remainder of the term and for the election process next year. He also reiterated his believe that, “The view if much better up here.” He wants to make his family proud. In attendance were three out of four of his daughters and his mother and father.
