OXFORD, AL – The Oxford Performing Arts Center will come alive with the fiery rhythms and sultry movements of Argentina’s most iconic dance on Sunday, October 26th, at 7 p.m., with the performance of Forever Tango.
Proudly presented by Ken and Jenny Howell, Forever Tango is a sensuous celebration of the music and movement that define the heart of Argentina. Created and directed by Luis Bravo, the internationally acclaimed production features fourteen world-class dancers, a vocalist, and an eleven-piece orchestra that includes the distinctive sound of the bandoneon, the instrument that gives tango its unmistakable soul.
The performance traces tango’s dramatic journey from its beginnings in the working-class neighborhoods and brothels of 19th-century Buenos Aires to its place as a symbol of passion, longing, and elegance recognized across the globe. Through haunting melodies and breathtaking choreography, the story of tango unfolds as both a dance and an expression of life itself.
Since its Broadway debut in 1997, Forever Tango has been celebrated around the world for capturing the emotional depth and timeless allure of the tango. Audiences can expect an evening filled with romance, artistry, and the irresistible rhythm that has made the tango a global phenomenon.
