Centre, AL – Gadsden State Community College recognized 440 graduates during its Spring 2026 commencement ceremony held May 14 at the Gadsden State Cherokee campus. Graduates earned a combined total of 732 credentials, including associate degrees, certificates, and short-term certificates.
The college also honored 132 students for outstanding academic achievement. Graduates received traditional honor cords representing their academic accomplishments.
A total of 31 students graduated Summa Cum Laude, earning grade point averages between 3.9 and 4.0 and receiving gold honor cords. An additional 39 students graduated Magna Cum Laude with GPAs ranging from 3.7 to 3.89 and received red cords. Forty students graduated Cum Laude with GPAs between 3.5 and 3.69 and were recognized with red and gold cords. Twenty-two students graduating with certificates earned distinction honors for maintaining at least a 3.5 GPA and received red and black cords.
Students from communities across Alabama and neighboring Georgia were recognized during the ceremony.
Among local graduates were students from Anniston, Alexandria, Eastaboga, Fruithurst, Heflin, Hobson City, Jacksonville, Munford, Ohatchee, Oxford, Piedmont, Weaver, Wellington, and other communities throughout Calhoun County and the surrounding region.
Weaver graduates included Lauren Madison Cobb, Robin Katielynne Cooper, Alyssa Fagan, Katelyne Louise Gruber, Cheryl Denise Hendrickson, Jesse Shane Kelley, Aiden Neal Lloyd, Shelby Loree McGinnis, Bridget Nikita Parker, Aaron Mitchell Wade, and Jymia Raquel Woods.
Jacksonville graduates included Kirsten Barrett, Nathan Ty Dickson, Kylie Freeman, Eren Kyle Gaddis, Madeline Rebecca Holt, Keegan Mitchell Huff, Nathan Christopher Latimer, Haleigh Marie Lovett, Scott Andrew Lyons, Timothy Howard Mayes, Harrison McNeal, Riley Josephine Sanders, Peyton Spruill, Grayson C. Tolbert, Michael David Willingham, Tori A. Wooldridge, Austin Reed Worthy, and Thomas Anthony Wright.
Oxford graduates included Jayden Trace Adams, Austin Wyatt Allen, Christopher Alvarez, Zachary James Blohm, Beatriz Marie Borrero, Esther Patrice Ewing, Ally Elise Folsom, Alyssia Garrett, Anthony Green, Adair Hernandez, Richie Leysa, Railey Hope Mayfield, Gavin Duane Moore, Kinleigh Shaddix, and Lily F. Taylor.
The commencement ceremony celebrated students who completed academic programs during the Spring Semester, marking an important milestone in their educational and professional journeys.
