Jacksonville Man Killed in Saturday Single-Vehicle Crash

Tuscaloosa County, AL – A Jacksonville man was killed Saturday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash in Tuscaloosa County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).

Jonathan D. Goodner, 47, was pronounced dead at the scene after the 2023 Ford Edge he was driving left the roadway and struck a sign, a ditch and a tree.

The crash occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Alabama 216 near the 20-mile marker, about five miles west of Brookwood, according to Senior Trooper Gregory Corble, spokesperson for ALEA.

Authorities said Goodner was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
