JACKSONVILLE, AL — The City of Jacksonville will host its sixth annual Jax Fest on Friday, July 3, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Public Safety Complex Park, 911 Public Safety Drive SW. The free community celebration will honor America’s 250th birthday with live entertainment, family activities, local vendors, food trucks and a fireworks finale.
The annual Independence Day event will feature more than 40 small business vendors and food trucks, making it the largest vendor lineup in the festival’s history. Attendees can enjoy live music, train rides, a foam party, professional wrestling, yard games and opportunities to take photos with historical characters.
Entertainment begins with the historical string band Un-Reconstructed from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by PARRIS, which will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. Historical figures including George Washington, Betsy Ross, Uncle Sam and Rosie the Riveter will also be available for photos after 7 p.m.
Family-friendly activities will include train rides, inflatable attractions, a fan-favorite foam party, wrestling exhibitions and interactive games throughout the evening.
The celebration will conclude with a fireworks show beginning at 9 p.m.
Jax Fest will be held at the Public Safety Complex Park, located at 911 Public Safety Drive SW, with parking available in nearby designated lots. Event organizers have also released parking maps, road closure information and activity maps to help attendees navigate the celebration.
Admission to Jax Fest is free and open to the public.
