Jacksonville Christian standout, Jax State commit surpasses mark that would put him in second place in AHSAA history.

GARDENDALE — Noah Lee played his way to seven Division I offers and three-star status while playing eight-man Christian school football. As the Jacksonville Christian standout and Jax State commit reaches the end of his senior year, his numbers rival the best produced in 11-man AHSAA football.

Lee completed 12 of 18 passes for 186 yards and three touchdowns, and JCA beat Tabernacle Christian 54-28 in a makeup game Monday.

The game was rescheduled from Sept. 5 because Tabernacle didn’t have enough players available.

Lee’s three touchdown passes lifted him to 136 for his career, a number that would rank him second in AHSAA records … if Lee played AHSAA ball. JCA (6-3) plays in the Alabama Christian Athletic Association and is the reigning state champion.

Chris Smelley threw 134 touchdown passes while playing for American Christian from 2002-05. Former Piedmont standout Jack Hayes holds the AHSAA career record with 158.

Lee’s total comes despite missing three games this season with a foot injury. He threw five touchdown passes in his return to action, a victory over Cornerstone on Friday.

As for Monday’s makeup game, Lee also rushed for two touchdowns.

Arnez Heard rushed 10 times for 154 yards and caught a touchdown pass. Brodie Wilkerson accounted for 95 total yards, including 60 yards on five catches with two touchdowns.

Dawson Wilkerson caught four passes for 48 yards and a touchdown. Jack Henry had 26 yards rushing with a touchdown and tied T.J. Scott with a team-high six tackles.
