Anniston, AL – The Public Library of Anniston-Calhoun County is launching a community-wide activity this summer with its first-ever Downtown Duck Hunt, taking place from July 1 through July 31, 2025. The event invites participants of all ages to explore downtown Anniston while locating rubber ducks hidden in various local businesses.
According to the library, a group of ducks “escaped” from the library ahead of summer reading preparations and are now concealed in participating downtown establishments. Community members are encouraged to assist in retrieving them by visiting each business, locating the hidden duck, and recording its name on an official hunt card.
Participants can pick up a map and entry form either in person at the library or online at https://publiclibrary.cc/duckhunt. Completed cards must be submitted to the library no later than July 31.
The first five individuals to complete the hunt will each receive a $10 Amazon gift card and a duck to keep. All other participants will be entered into a drawing for additional prizes. Each household is limited to one prize-winning entry.
The event is designed to promote engagement with both the library and downtown businesses, offering families a fun and interactive activity throughout the month of July.
